Visit one of the nine larger islands, such as Styrso and Branno, or discover smaller and lesser-known options. Remember, however, that you can travel only by ferry, electric car, scooter, or bike. Where to stay in Gothenburg

Gothenburg has much to offer in the way of accommodations, all relatively close to the city center. You'll find a number of upscale hotels in the city center and on the outskirts of the city as well, that offer a luxurious, private retreat. There are a few mid-range options here in the form of hotels and bed and breakfasts. Budget-conscious travelers can seek out a number of hostels and guesthouses, or rent an apartment and save money on food by cooking at home. If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, opt to stay at one of the many campsites. No matter what your price point, be sure to book in advance.

  • The archipelago is perfect in late spring and all summer. During summer months it might be crouded with tourists, but still great for taking a splung in the sea, sunbathing and enjoying the nature.  more »
