Slottsskogen, Gothenburg
(4.6/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
In addition to parkland, Slottsskogen offers sites such as a zoo and Swedish heritage area. The park was founded in 1876, during the development of the 17th-century city of Gothenburg. The popular zoo features native animals, and the historical zone is full of small Swedish cottages typical of different regions. Take in the natural surroundings at this 137 hectare (339 acre) park by exploring open spaces or hiking one of its many trails. Stroll through the English-inspired landscaping or play a game at one of the park's many sports fields. • The city's lung, and a wonderful place to walk in. "do you have children with you, there are large open spaces to run and play and animal watching. You can easily have a picnic or visit any of the cafes. Nice areas to exercise or just enjoy the beautiful flowers and plants. The city's biggest playground of great features here. Slottskogen is suitable for young and old and has something to offer every season of the year.

  • A very nice place for Sunday walks, for example. In addition, it is free. Large lawns for children to play on, and where adults may lie and rest on a blanket. There are also animals to look at, so count on a full day excursion with the family. Opportunity for both food and coffee. Can highly recommend this a spring or summer day.

  • A nice park to visit when you are in Gothenburg for a nice walk on a cold sunny day. There are a lot of beautiful and funny animals. A quiet, peaceful spot, just outside the city.

  • Very nice place to walk around in ,good place to get away from the stress in the city's
  • Wonderful park area in downtown Gothenburg. If you're lucky with the weather it's definitely worth a visit especially if you haven't seen some of the animals they have at the zoo. Especially fun for kids is the small petting zoo they have, exclusive for kids! There are also plenty of restaurants in and around the park to enjoy a Swedish fika.
  • Amazing spacious park. Big playground for children and the cafe/bar close by the lake has some very cosy seats close by the water.
  • Best place in Gothenburg to bring a grill and enjoy nature. Also great place for running or strolling around. Very popular with families.
  • A beautiful park in Gothenburg. There's no shortage of trails here, and the views are lovely. There's also penguins, seals, moose and other animals to view (for free) and lots of places to take pictures, have a picnic or just relax.
