  • Museum exhibits here we liked. There are many interesting things to learn more about Gothenburg. There is a possibility to book a tour with a guide in English.

  • Visiting the Maritime Museum on the same ticket, you can get into the Aquarium. It's small, interesting, of course, children. The inscriptions are duplicated in English.

  • On the ground floor, you will become acquainted with the beautiful, well-kept aquariums where you may see seahorses, corals, fish and other things. Upstairs you will find the Octopus exhibit (given when we were there in August) as well as exhibition of boats, and fun for the kids with built boat that rocks and other fun things. Fun for both children and adults. Big plus is the entrance which only cost 40 kr for adults. Free for those under 25 years old!

  • A really nice museum, especially compared to what it used to be a couple of years ago. Provides a good picture of naval history in Gothenburg. Nice and friendly staff, and the cafeteria is good.
  • The exhibition is very nice and offers a comprehensive history of Swedish merchant many activities. The descriptions on the second floor are, unfortunately, only available in Swedish. You need to make sure to take a left when coming up the stairs as there are English language information sheets available there, which explain the exhibits on that floor. In the other areas the descriptions are bilingual in Swedish and English. The ship simulator was closed when I visited, but it looked like a rather sophisticated specimen that may be used in actual nautical training as well. There were lots of activities for children of all ages: a full scale yardarm complete with sail for kids to grow their sea legs, plaster waves to climb on, a moving wheelhouse that simulates a fishing vessel in a storm, plus a number of scheduled, guided activities. The aquarium was also very nice. The university of Gothenburg runs some experiments there. Every Saturday at 1200 is marine petting zoo time. Overall it is a very nice, entertaining venue to visit.
  • Great place to have fun with family or friends! Lots of history of Gothenburg port.
  • Very nice and interesting museum.
  • Great aquariums and shipping history.
