  • Maritime Museum has everything from strange and okonstiga fishes to older and younger boats (ship). Exciting, isn't it, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. There is also a really nice cafe.

  • Was there with her partner on a rainy Saturday morning, and the exhibits are interesting and good for those who are interested in shipping or life under water, thanks to their aquarium with exciting species. Their show if octopuses were very good. However, it was a lot of families with young children there, which is understandable considering the price (for an adult 40kr, free under age 25) and that it can be hard to find at any other activity with the family on a rainy autumn day. There is a playroom at the Museum, however, it is unfortunately very easy for those who do not have children and would like to watch and read about the various items in the peace and quiet, without children running around and screaming.

  • A really nice museum, especially compared to what it used to be a couple of years ago. Provides a good picture of naval history in Gothenburg. Nice and friendly staff, and the cafeteria is good.
  • The exhibition is very nice and offers a comprehensive history of Swedish merchant many activities. The descriptions on the second floor are, unfortunately, only available in Swedish. You need to make sure to take a left when coming up the stairs as there are English language information sheets available there, which explain the exhibits on that floor. In the other areas the descriptions are bilingual in Swedish and English. The ship simulator was closed when I visited, but it looked like a rather sophisticated specimen that may be used in actual nautical training as well. There were lots of activities for children of all ages: a full scale yardarm complete with sail for kids to grow their sea legs, plaster waves to climb on, a moving wheelhouse that simulates a fishing vessel in a storm, plus a number of scheduled, guided activities. The aquarium was also very nice. The university of Gothenburg runs some experiments there. Every Saturday at 1200 is marine petting zoo time. Overall it is a very nice, entertaining venue to visit.
  • Great place to have fun with family or friends! Lots of history of Gothenburg port.
  • Todella kattava satama ja meri museo
  • Very nice and interesting museum.
