  • It is a museum with a fairly comprehensive collection, from Byzantine icons to contemporary art, with works from Rembrandt to Picasso. Interesting to visit it, but in my opinion the lighting in the rooms is very badly raised

  • Scopes quite a few time periods and it is obviously put much care into composing the lighting and display. The tops floors has works from world known artists. PS. Closed on Mondays.  more »
  • Göteborgs Kunstmuseum is a leader in Nordic art, here you will find many masterpieces of above artist. The collection includes works from five centuries and is complemented by temporary exhibitions in painting & sculpture. Also here, a Hasselblad photo art exhibition, which however can be ignored. To be a must here have been for every art lover. You here still close to these celebrities, really a great feast for the eyes!

  • It's a perfect museum for the city- small enough to cover what you wanted without needing to cover excess ground to get there. If you find the organization to be confusing that probably also means it's small enough to trek to the work you need to put it together. It wasn't crowded and doesn't seem likely to be, especially if some people maintain a snobby attitude toward it that "there are better museums". I was told that (by international conference attendees I was with) but I told them I enjoyed my afternoon and especially the Swedish artists. It was all very pleasant, including the building, the staff, fellow museum goers and a low key, relaxing experience compared to all of the big "better" museums around the US and Europe.
  • Really worth visiting. Some of the finest paintings and sculptures I have seen. You will need at least two hours to indulge yourself and appreciate the art. As the museum guide (provided inside at the reception) suggests start from the 6th floor and come down.
  • Good museum, wide variety and quiet big enough; just one mistake: Picasso was Spanish, not French
  • Entry fee is 40 kronas. Quite reasonable given the vast collections
  • Allways worth 4€/year to look at the ugly version of Fraiser. Yes it's Karl XII im refering to.
