Liseberg, Gothenburg

(4.4/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
Experience a range of excitement, from thrill rides to live events and holiday markets, at Liseberg, one of the most popular amusement parks in Scandinavia. This park is home to the Balder, a famous wooden-tracked roller coaster, as well as arcade games, a haunted hotel, and lots of other rides, including two water rides. Young children will want to try the kiddie rides, like the tea cups, bumper cars, and dragon boats. If you're looking for something more relaxing, enjoy quiet gardens, take in a show or concert, or, if the season's right, visit the park's Christmas market. Use our Gothenburg trip itinerary planner to add Liseberg and other attractions to your Gothenburg vacation plans.

  • I have been to several amusement parks around the world over the years and I must say that the Liseberg amusement park is perfectly ok when it comes to G-forces and "I-pallets-not-a-time-to". The attractions are good, some are even quite good! In addition, the new building at regular intervals that are really challenging. However, the restaurant supply. It's so horribly monotonous and simple and it tastes the same in different places. The feeling is blown away and thus drag down the grade. The Park is clean and nice but very boring for the slightly more adult audience. See tex not a single place to sit and enjoy a drink while the kids run lap after lap in any of the roller-coaster. There are soft drinks, beer and unpalatable grape must. (Irony) I had come here with children much more often if there had been a cosy restaurant with good wines. But it's Sweden it here I came on ...

  • Liseberg is absolutely wonderful amusement park for children and adults alike ... ... but the food is beneath contempt. 300:-for a right which is tasteless is outrageous. We are at Liseberg 2-3 per year with the children and the food is as bad each time. Sharpening ... food is a big part of the experience.

  • When you have payed your entrance fee you have a beautiful park to explore. Stroll around, see the wonderful flowers, eat something, play in the wheels of Fortune. If you dare, take a ride in Helix th...  more »

  • The only negative thing I can say about this place is that it closes during fall and winter, apart from some weeks during the holidays in december. Really nice amusement park that has it all. Even if you only want to go for a walk and see some fun stuff, or if you want to ride every attraction there is, this is the perfect place. This place has something for everyone.
  • Really nice place. I rode Helix, Baldar, and one other one that the name I don't remember (went straight up and dropped really fast). The wooden roller coaster in Texas is notorious for being really rough, but Balder was pretty smooth. Best advice was from a Swiss who said, "Don't worry... The Germans built it!"
  • If you're from Gothenburg or the surrounding areas, it's worth it to get an annual pass. It'll pay for itself in three visits--and you can use it during the Halloween and Christmas celebrations. The park is clean, fun and always seems to have something going on (for example, Olympics Days). The wait on the rides, even when busy, aren't *too* bad, and if you're decent with games, you stand a good chance of actually winning prizes at the many arcade options (though there's also a large arcade with a plethora of non-toy games, too).
  • A great theme park, some excellent attractions, for all ages. Easy to spend a day or two here with family. (One complain though; most of the bigger rides are min. 130cm height, not 120cm height as we have come to expect based on other theme parks). And beware... some days during the summer, this place gets extremely crowded. Rides may have queues that have between 60 and 80 mins waiting.
  • One of the nicest amusement parks i Europe. Helix is awesome, a thrill. Balder, the wooden roller coaster, is extremely nice. The green room, is a vegetarian restaurant that is better than most restaurants at Liseberg. Well worth a visit.
