Haga, Gothenburg

4.4
#1 of 10 in Historic Sites in Gothenburg
Walk the cobblestoned streets of Haga, the city's oldest neighborhood, which has experienced a renaissance in recent years. This quarter was founded in the 17th century, though most of its character and historical architecture reflects its roots as a 19th-century working-class district. After becoming a famous hippie hangout in the 1970s, this area was renovated in the 1980s. Today this trendy neighborhood boasts lovely wooden houses, boutique shops, and locally owned cafes, restaurants, and bars. • Haga is a small historic district, with mostly wooden houses, and colorful. It is pedestrian area with plenty of bars and pubs for dining.

  • Loved the Haga. This old part of Gothenburg is like the lanes in Brighton- quirky and cool. The most amazing coffee shops with a wondrous selection of cakes to chose from. Lots of arty, cool shops but...  more »

  • Good food variety, you can select the dish size, which is good in my opinion. The food I selected was rich is taste and spicy. There is a nice bar watching the street inside, sitting tables inside and outside for a sunny day. The price is reasonable. Service is welcoming. No wifi.
  • Food is amazing, really amazing! The products taste fresh and they have a lot of variety. I loved the idea of the "1 plate - 4 items + soup", which lets you try different options at once and for a very good price. There are plenty of vegan options (mostly vegan). Oh, and what got my attention is the dog-friendly facilities outside (water)!
  • Nicest staff! Really good food, many options (vegan & vegetarian). Desserts however a few vegan but mostly vegetarian ovo-lacto. A homemade lemonade you just have to try! A new favorite.
  • Very friendly staff and they only serve vegetarian food. Try the sampling platter and don't miss out on their baked goods for dessert or "fika" :)
  • What a amazing place and amazing people. The food is great.
