Fish Church, Gothenburg

(3.7/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Named for its resemblence to a Gothic church, Fish Church today markets fresh catches as a fish market in Sweden's seafood hub. Gothenburg has long been known for its gastronomic scene, much of which focuses on fish and other seafood. Since this market opened in 1874, it has become an institution in the city, attracting tourists and locals alike. Tour the stalls of the indoor hall and purchase fish and shellfish, including local delicacies. If you're hungry, stop in to the site's seafood restaurant. Using our custom trip planner, Gothenburg attractions like Fish Church can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Gone from the assessments to the "Church", but there are better fish markets. It is small and very discreet. the building is rather the "highlight". The way out of town out along, the shore is really nice. Whether it's worth a visit, remains a matter of taste...
