Waterkant (Riverside Boulevard), Paramaribo
(2.6/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Stoll along under the shade of almond trees and see the 19th-century colonial style houses at Waterkant (Riverside Boulevard). Watch the commerce of ships in the harbor and cars moving along the distant bridge in one of the oldest parts of Paramaribo. Have a sip of Surinamese beer and grab some local dishes, such as bami (meat noodles) or kip sate (skewered meat), from the typical Indonesian warungs (small family restaurants), which remain open until late at night. The nearby attractions include the main square and presidential palace. Put Waterkant (Riverside Boulevard) and other Paramaribo attractions into our Paramaribo travel itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Just to walk in Paramaribo is the right way to get to know the city! At the Waterkant and the many small eateries where you meet on the tourists. Myself, I met Swedish tourists who recounted experiences from experiences in the country we had coffee together madan. Good place to meet tourists!

  • Some are really tip-top, otherwise landfill of woes in each other, but one thing is for sure, this colonial buildings on the waterfront are very special to see when you are in Paramaribo
