Visit the largest wooden structure in the Western Hemisphere at Saint Peter and Paul Basilica, recently upgraded to the status of a basilica. Built in 1885 and restored in 2010, the imposing wooden building features a peaceful interior, made completely of Surinamese cedar wood. Inside, you can view the grave of missionary priest Peter Donders, three different-sized bells in the tower, and intricate decorations and designs in the woodwork.   • Magnificent cathedral completely wooden, attend mass at 10: 00 on Sunday if you can (plan 1 hour minimum, 2 h sometimes!). Attention, dress required.
