This church is not particularly special but yet again though. All wood is in line with the original buildings of Paramaribo. If you look you will see how complex the construction work actually is. Also the floor and the area around it are more than work box. Moreover this is an oasis of calm in this often hectic city. It is very definitely a have to see when you are here

The main street in the center of Paramaribo district contains most of the city's important buildings, both State and local government-but also the fine Cathedral (Saint Peter & Paul is located on the left side of the entrance gate to the city centre.

The Basilica gives you a sense of how small a part you are in God's great creation and yet gives you a sense of belonging as well.

Where to stay in Paramaribo

Paramaribo is packed with guesthouses, which make this town an extremely appealing destination for backpackers. The least expensive option in town, some of these establishments offer very basic rooms and shared restrooms without hot water--ask about on-site facilities before checking in. Dozens of mid-range hotels provide a more suitable option for families with kids, business travelers, and anyone else looking for a few more perks. If you're planning to stay longer, consider renting a furnished apartment in a residential neighborhood.
