In addition to all the other plantations is Peperpot also very special. Look around what we as Dutch people have left behind. And Yes we are not been used s_mmman. But by reclaiming land from the sea, this area is dry and very fruitful. nwij are on the bike with a guide through this area. Monkeys seen turtles and also varaanen. Special is that here and there showing parts accessible becoming. But very interesting were the coffee beds and cocoa trees. Our guide knew very much about the current population at Peperpot and around to Macias. For us it was the tour more than just the old plantations

We ourselves are by taxi to Peperpot. It is very quiet in the park. Even on weekends, we met only one other group of against. You walk 8 km to the plantation homes of which 5 by through the nature park. On the way you have lots of monkeys. Furthermore, there are signs with explanation about the plants and animals. The plantation houses are not all maintained but that makes it special. Fun for a short day trip from Paramaribo.

A very nice nature reserve. With the bike, we drove through the park. Beautiful nature and you'll see all kinds of animals. In the park are signs about animals. Running it seems to me too long in the heat. Already gives it a light cool down in the shade. With the bike was it just right and not too hot. The park is about 4 km long.

Where to stay in Paramaribo

Paramaribo is packed with guesthouses, which make this town an extremely appealing destination for backpackers. The least expensive option in town, some of these establishments offer very basic rooms and shared restrooms without hot water--ask about on-site facilities before checking in. Dozens of mid-range hotels provide a more suitable option for families with kids, business travelers, and anyone else looking for a few more perks. If you're planning to stay longer, consider renting a furnished apartment in a residential neighborhood.
