  • Here is very good to see how a plantation there long ago looked like. A nice trip to there by bike to do from the Centre of Paramaribo.

  • Take the time to walk the trail and quietly view many types of birds and monkeys. The flora is also lovely and the trail is clean and maintained.  more »
  • Beautiful location in preparation for the real jungle. Easy on the bicycle (mountain bike), but also fine to run. A long straight path with each side an entry. Monkeys is guaranteed, we have also seen a snake in one of the plantation houses, many salamanders (large and small). A lot of kinds of insects and butterflies (Tropical Bush certainly advised). There are also different species of birds and snake species. Take your camera along, beautiful nature pictures possible. Don't forget your macro lens! Furthermore, very quiet, not much tourism. Nice combine into one tour (new Amsterdam, Katwijk etc.)

  • I forgot to take pictures of the trail. Was enjoying it. It is worth it if you like nature. The pictures are of the old model houses.
  • Special experience to walk a trail-with the realization that slaves did this earlier every day, without the comfort of shoes or water close at hand. Make sure to bring walking shoes, if you visit-a route on slippers peperpot is something less practical. Little explanation, to you to historical elements to find out and your imagination on the smoking. Entrance ticket to buy on arrival at the park: 10 SRD.

Where to stay in Paramaribo

Paramaribo is packed with guesthouses, which make this town an extremely appealing destination for backpackers. The least expensive option in town, some of these establishments offer very basic rooms and shared restrooms without hot water--ask about on-site facilities before checking in. Dozens of mid-range hotels provide a more suitable option for families with kids, business travelers, and anyone else looking for a few more perks. If you're planning to stay longer, consider renting a furnished apartment in a residential neighborhood.
