In the Palm Garden you can take a stroll during the day. It's nice but not special. In the evening and night is not safe.

Good weather for hiking. In the morning is the best, then it is not so hot. Beware falling nuts.

The Palmgarden is a must see for visitors to #Suriname. The history of this garden is connected to that of the wooden Presidential palace of the country which is adjacent to it. #Paramaribo

Good place to have a rest. Check out Zus&Zo across the street from west entrance for drinks and tours.

Where to stay in Paramaribo

Paramaribo is packed with guesthouses, which make this town an extremely appealing destination for backpackers. The least expensive option in town, some of these establishments offer very basic rooms and shared restrooms without hot water--ask about on-site facilities before checking in. Dozens of mid-range hotels provide a more suitable option for families with kids, business travelers, and anyone else looking for a few more perks. If you're planning to stay longer, consider renting a furnished apartment in a residential neighborhood.
