  • It's only because of its centuries long history and its equally old palmtrees that this place is interesting. But that's all. No activities, no food, nothing at all. Only a small playground. And, for ...  more »
  • Nice and quiet, under the palm trees. Great place for photos. Playground for the little ones. Ideal for picnicking. Not very exciting. Please note the hours of operation! Fine location, combine well with other activities in the Center (Fort Zeelandia etc.)

  • Used to be you could walk to cool off and enjoy your views, but the atmosphere is completely gone. The soothing feeling is no longer there and you have a lurid feeling now. Unfortunately one of the eyecatcher what road is now.

  • The Palmgarden is a must see for visitors to #Suriname. The history of this garden is connected to that of the wooden Presidential palace of the country which is adjacent to it. #Paramaribo
  • Nice place to take a walk during daytime.
  • Impressive array of palm tree's, niche place for chilling in the shade
  • Good place to have a rest. Check out Zus&Zo across the street from west entrance for drinks and tours.
  • Really nice for a stroll.

Where to stay in Paramaribo

Paramaribo is packed with guesthouses, which make this town an extremely appealing destination for backpackers. The least expensive option in town, some of these establishments offer very basic rooms and shared restrooms without hot water--ask about on-site facilities before checking in. Dozens of mid-range hotels provide a more suitable option for families with kids, business travelers, and anyone else looking for a few more perks. If you're planning to stay longer, consider renting a furnished apartment in a residential neighborhood.
