  • A bit of a walk, but the views are well worth it. BUT: wear good walking shoes - no flip flops. There is a lot of broken glass on the ground.  more »

  • A fort with free access. The view is actually on the bay but from low altitude. You can try using cannons to shoot at moored ships.
  • Fort Amsterdam is a nice easy place to visit with some great views. You need to drive through the Divi resort which is a bit strange, but then it is a short walk to the fort. Hurricane Irma did a number on the touristy parts of it so there are no facilities, but the fort walls and cannons are still there and the view in three directions is spectacular.
  • Beautiful place with a gorgeous view over the bay... worth a visit! Hint: is accessible via luxury complexe, just talk to the gate man and he will tell you how to walk.
  • Closed for general public, there is supposed to be some kind of restoration/renovation, however, it is most likely years that this fort has not been touched. Great views of the cruisers coming to Sint Maarten, there is not much to be seen here, except for the few cannons, ruined central house, and some holes that were used as a storage.
  • Get a sense of history over hundreds of years here.
