Orient Bay Beach, Orient Bay
(4.1/5 based on 3,800+ reviews on the web)
Clothing remains optional at Orient Bay Beach, a lengthy stretch of powdery sand protected from the harsh Atlantic by a long reef. Located on the island's eastern coastline, the beach provides plenty of space for parasailing, windsurfing, and partying the night away. Not everyone bares it all here, but a nearby nudist resort gives the beach a naturist bent. While access to the sand and surf is free, there's a small charge for renting beach chairs and umbrellas. • Is a long sandy beach, clean, beautiful and blue like all other beaches, but with more movement. There you can dive, has several water sports, parasailing for 15 min leaves $45 dollars per person. As soon as you enter the sea becomes deep ... the structure that the Beach offers is great, with several restaurants and bars.

  • Beautiful embellished beach of algae and restaurants/bar. It all depends on what you're looking for? On one side you have the beach naturist and on the other, the more quiet and wild side. The waves are often present as well as the wind: paradise of winter sports. No shade... and the mask and snorkel difficult to use because of the waves. Prefer Friars beach for peace...

  • Long beach full of algae with a lot of swell, not very nice to bathe... However, paradise for lovers of kite surfing

  • The beach and the water is beautiful...but be advised if you are taking young children there are lots of folks (of all ages) who wear thong bottoms, no tops, and banana hammocks with only the twig covered-berries were swinging in the breeze. The sight of these were more amusing to our party however, if I had had young children it would have been uncomfortable. The other down side of this beach was the fact that they charged ridiculous rates for everything...for example they charge $1.00 every time you wanted to utilize the restroom, $8.00 for chair rental for 45 minutes. We spent most of our time fending off peddlers of every sort. It is pretty but was really not relaxing when constantly defending why you didn't want their services or wares.
  • This past December my wife and I, along with an additional couple, decided to celebrate the holiday season on a 9-day cruise aboard the newest ship in the Holland America fleet, the m.s. Koningsdam. Our Eastern Caribbean cruise took us to a variety of islands including Saint-Martin / Sint Maarten. During our full day on the island, from 8am - 8pm to be exact, we knew we had enough time to explore both the Dutch and French sides of the island. We docked in Philipsburg on the Dutch side and, after exploring Marigot on the French side, we headed to Orient Beach on Orient Bay, located on the northeast side of the island. If you can overlook (so to speak) the near 30 mph winds smacking you in the face, you’ll see a beautiful crescent beach with views of a mountainous island in the distance. There are plenty of beachside restaurants and shops as well as a ton of beach chairs and umbrellas. You better believe the frozen drinks were flowing too. For adventurers there is plenty to do from para-gliding to jet skiing and everything in between. Minus the strong winds on Orient Beach and you would have a delightful beach bum kind of day for those looking to relax.
  • Orient Beach- one of the fine Beaches in St.Martin, full of bars and night entertainment
  • The white sand beach and beautiful blue water is very pretty but I think this beach may be a little over hyped. There were several water activities available here and this beach seemed very touristy. I prefer the quieter beaches.
  • The water was slightly colder than the water on the carribean side. The beach is covered with people pressuring you into buying shirts and monkey souvenirs. The same products can be bought for a cheaper price near the cruise port.
