Orient Bay Beach, Orient Bay
(4.1/5 based on 3,800+ reviews on the web)
Clothing remains optional at Orient Bay Beach, a lengthy stretch of powdery sand protected from the harsh Atlantic by a long reef. Located on the island's eastern coastline, the beach provides plenty of space for parasailing, windsurfing, and partying the night away. Not everyone bares it all here, but a nearby nudist resort gives the beach a naturist bent. While access to the sand and surf is free, there's a small charge for renting beach chairs and umbrellas. • Been visiting Orient Beach for decades and never get tired of it. There are plenty of beach bars/restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The beach is very lively with chair/umbrella rentals and al...  more »
  • Fine sandy beach on the French side at 20 min by car from philipsburg, and turquoise water. They rent you deck chair and umbrella to $20. Good food service!

  • The water was slightly colder than the water on the carribean side. The beach is covered with people pressuring you into buying shirts and monkey souvenirs. The same products can be bought for a cheaper price near the cruise port.
  • Orient Beach have just about all the water activities that you will want to do. From Jet ski's, Parailsailing, Water Trampoline, Wind Surfing and Paddle Boarding. The whole Beach Women can be topless and if you walk a little further down to the French side you can go completely naked. You can rent 2 Beach chairs with a umbrella to block the sun for $15 USD all day. It was a great experience for me to visit a nude beach for the first time. Orient Beach is a nice long strip where you can get drinks, food and water activities. On the French side of Orient Beach is where you can be completely nude but the whole Beach you can be topless. In some reviews I'm seeing people complaining about people trying to sell you stuff. Like massage's with Aloe or if you want your hair braided etc. Just say a simple no if your not interested they'll go about their business in my experience.
  • The white sand beach and beautiful blue water is very pretty but I think this beach may be a little over hyped. There were several water activities available here and this beach seemed very touristy. I prefer the quieter beaches.
  • Excellent beach with many bars and restaurant. Turquoise water, white sand. Pretty much the perfect beach in my book!
  • The water is a bit rougher here so be careful with the little ones. Chairs for rent - great pizza here too! A few too many pedlars but a beautiful beach regardless!
