  • We had driven to Castries for a midday visit. At first we looked for street parking but after a circular route bringing us back to the Vigie roundabout, we found a multistorey just opposite the market...  more »

  • Stay safe as you would do everywhere. Don't expose expensive jewelry or cameras. Scammers pretend to be collecting money for the school, for a the softball team. Say no to everybody approaching you so you will just deal with the honest locals
  • CASTRIES MARKET, warning - thieves are working this market daily; they pray on tourists. Do not go to this market as your chances of being robbed is very high; they will approach you and grab your necklace, camera, purse, bags or backpacks; they will come from behind, knock you to the ground and beat you up trying to rob you... OR they will use a knife. They are younger Lucian men, some with short, braided, Rasta hair and some with longer braided hair... No one will come to your assistance including the police; everyone looks the other way helping the thieves escape... DO NOT GO TO THE MARKET IN CASTRIES or walk the main or side streets, it is very UNSAFE...
