Jacob's Ladder, Jamestown

Must see · Tourist Spot · Landmark
One of the seven wonders of St. Helena, Jacob's Ladder connects the valley grounds to a fort on top of the hill. With a total of 699 steps, the steep stairway clambers up a rocky slope, with dizzying views of the sea and island. Once a mere rope ladder, today the repaired stairs each measure approximately 30 cm (11 inches) high and deep. Lighting at night makes it possible to climb at any time. • Very nice "Ladder", but tough to clime with its 699 steps and you need to be fit to go up and also to decent. I used a car. Beautiful view from above. Highly recommended. Take water with you.
  • took 30mins to climb. best view on top.
  • At the top nice Ladies from local Red Cross changing water for a small donation.
  • When visiting st Helena this is a bucket list item. The view is great, it's a step climb and there's no need to rush.
