  • Ancient, very revered among Buddhists Temple. Was built in the 2 century BC, King Kavantissa. According to legend, the Buddha Sakyamuni himself was in this place, put flowers and wished that the temple was built here. And if I understood correctly, in this temple there is a genuine relic-the frontal bone of the Buddha. In any case, history lovers or persons professing Buddhism, will be interesting here.

  • We decided to visit this ancient Buddhist in Trincomalee. It drove about an hour by car. The temple is situated in a secluded location among forests. It is a complex of monuments. Main structure of the Stupa itself. There are railings, an ancient pond and caves with ancient paintings. Recommend to lovers of history.

  • This is a historic Buddhist temple build many centuries ago. The surroundings are much quite and peaceful. Morning hours visit is much comfortable as the weather is quite sunny and humid.
