1.1/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web
Experience everyday local tradition and take a bath in the holy waters of Kanniya Hot Springs. The earliest references to this site date back to the Ravana period, over 5,000 years ago. Today, locals who wish to benefit from the water's medicinal properties visit the wells. Step onto the tile floor and find seven man-made square-shaped wells, each no more than waist-deep. Grab a bucket, scoop out some water (sourced from natural springs below), and take a bath the local way. Notice that each of the wells varies slightly in temperature. • Whilst the entry is only 10LKR each the "springs" consist of 7 cement troughs that you draw water from with a bucket and tip on yourself. A complete waste of time
  • You pay 50 rupees for seeing those hot Springs. When I came, there were only a few locals and they gave me a nice water- shower treatment. Lovely people.
  • Great place to visit (short visit less than 1 hour). People in the region come swim in droves, especially on Sundays. Very lively and touristy. We liked the quirky atmosphere of the place! Diving in local life
