Hike up Pidurangala Rock, a geological feature offering extensive views of the verdant hilly landscape and an atmosphere of seclusion and contemplation. Standing opposite a larger, more frequented hill, the rock possesses a different charm to its touristy brother, with a quiet and peaceful Buddhist temple at its foot, and a giant reclining Buddha statue in a secluded cave part way up. The ascent takes around half an hour, with a medium difficulty scramble over some boulders near the top, so wear suitable footwear. The views from the top make the exertion worthwhile. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Sigiriya holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Pidurangala Rock and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Pidurangala Rock Reviews
Vi valde att gå upp på det andra berget. Var beredd på att klättra och att krypa på vissa ställen. Men helt klart en upplevelse. Mindre folk och utsikten över Sigriya är fin. Gå tidigt så ni får se di... more »We chose to go up on the other Hill. Be prepared to climb and crawl in some places. But clearly an experience. Less people and views of the Sigriya is fine. Go early so you get to see the fog/storm clouds spread over the National Park for you. Monkeys climbing and runs on the mountain. Get on your knees-covered pants and sweater over her shoulders in order to begin with to go over a temple district. Very pleased
Easy 25min walk to the top along mostly well trodden trails. Once you get past the reclining Buddha the trail gets a bit harder to follow but shouldn’t be an issue for most. The view of the surrounds ... more »
A fantastic view over Lion Rock! We went up in the afternoon just to see the sunset from the top. We had some snacks and drinks with us and sat there watching the sun go down. Pretty easy 20 min walk ... more »
Entry is 500 - a fraction of the price of the nearby Lions rock, though the site is just as great. Go at sunset for a perfect ending to a day. Wonderful view from the top of the mountain. The hike is about 20 minutes, but it is quite tough and you need to climb a little. This is not for people with limited ability to move.
Really nice atmosphere and surrounding. The climb is exciting and challenging too. I prefer Pidurangala over seegiriya because it's less crowded, less time to climb (yet more challenging) and stunning 360 view from the top.
What a wonderful place to be. You can have the best view of Sigiriya up from here. Please keep this place clean. Do not throw empty bottles here.if you can carry filled bottles to the peak, why can't you just bring down the empty one? Be responsible. Keep mother lanka clean.
Awesome views. The climb is a bit tricky at places, take shoes! Can do in flip-flops with a good grip too.
A climb of about 20-30 minutes. The last bit is challenging but possible. Breathtaking view at the top. Not very crowded like sigiriya.

Offering an introduction to the history and culture of the state, Panjim sits above a wide river and boasts a laid-back, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Wearing its colonial heritage proudly in its contemporary multiculturalism, Panjim represents one of the most accessible and international cities in the country. Historical attractions in Panjim include a number of colonial Portuguese churches and other storied buildings, lining the leafy thoroughfares and dotting the knotted streets of the main European-influenced districts. The whitewashed architecture of the walkable city center gives way to golden beaches to the south along the coast--popular day trip ideas with locals and tourists alike.
