Pidurangala Rock, Sigiriya
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Hike up Pidurangala Rock, a geological feature offering extensive views of the verdant hilly landscape and an atmosphere of seclusion and contemplation. Standing opposite a larger, more frequented hill, the rock possesses a different charm to its touristy brother, with a quiet and peaceful Buddhist temple at its foot, and a giant reclining Buddha statue in a secluded cave part way up. The ascent takes around half an hour, with a medium difficulty scramble over some boulders near the top, so wear suitable footwear. The views from the top make the exertion worthwhile. Vue aussi belle qu'au rocher de sigiriya, il ne manque que la citadelle. Tres beau à faire et beaucoup moins de mondeView as beautiful as the rock of sigiriya, missing only the Citadel. Very nice to do and much less than worldshow original

The views were incredible, and the entry a lot cheaper. While other rock costs about 30 - 35$ per person, this can't or halfway between the two.show original
Owesom plase to see, little bit difficult to climb, but place & seanery is eye catching...! Wow
Absolutely cracker experience! Best time for photos of Sigirya is definitely sunrise. A bit of a challenging climb though, so travel light.

Skip the Sigiriya Lions Rock and drive 1km further to Pidurangala Rock. The climb to the top and back take approximately 1,5 hours and can be challenging if you're older or not fit. Your efforts to reach the top will be rewarded with a stunning view on the Lion's Rock and the area. Entrance is only 500rps, there are not that many tourists and the area is beautiful. You can also take nice pictures near the lake, which is a 5min drive from Pidurangala Temple.
Great hike to the top, around 45 min. Awesome view from the rock!!
Great place to vist. Climbing is vey difficult
