  • Sri lanka is a most biutyfull country in the world.Somawathi stoopaya is the one of the big stoopa in sri lanka. It is a hostorycal and valuable place and i think u all must see it.
  • The somawathiya chaitya is situated in the ancient city of polonnaruwa. Its very beautiful place.
  • Sacred relic of lord Buddha. Situated in the middle of a protected dry environmental reservation. Driving to the location is quite easy thanks to the initiatives from MR government. It is so sunny during the day but very relaxing under tree shades.
  • I tried reaching the temple last December, but floods stopped us 3km before the destination. Please don't travel to Somawathiya in Monsoon and rainy season to Polonnaruwa.Because two branches of Mahaweli Ganga flows circling Somawathiya temple and easily floods the wet land around Somawathiya temple
  • Besides being a hotspot for Buddhist pilgrims, its a great location to appreciate the climate variation throughout Sri Lanka. Wonderful place to visit
