  • Polonnaruwa was the second Kingdom of Sri Lanka, being now a UNESCO World Heritage site. It consists of a mix of archeological monuments: the famous Gal Viharaya or Temple Rock where there are four colossal Buddha statues cut in stone, reflecting peace, serenity and strength, as well as ruins of ancient palaces and Royal baths.
