World's End, Nuwara Eliya
(4.1/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web)
In the cloud-covered heights of the Horton Plains National Park, World's End offers one of the most dramatic vantage points in Sri Lanka. From a sheer cliff drop of some 1,200 m (4,000 ft), the view encompasses almost the entire park. Hike the moderate 4 km (2.4 mi) trail from the entrance to the park's highest point, looping round Baker's Falls for the full 9.5 km (5.9 mi) experience. For the best views, plan your trip for early morning, when clouds are least likely to spoil the vista. Take plenty of water and snacks, and dress in layers against the chilly high-elevation conditions. Plan to visit World's End and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Nuwara Eliya attractions using our Nuwara Eliya vacation route planner.

  • Because of the absence of killer animals (the Sambur deer are the largest inhabitants) this was an opportunity to get out and walk in a lovely park area. We did the standard circular loop trail (about...  more »
  • We couldn't see the view as it was very misty but still enjoyed the walk and the waterfalls. We walked anti-clockwise which meant a much gentler climb at the end of the walk.
  • Highly recommended trek covering two viewing points (World's End - Big n Small) and a waterfall. The trek is not difficult and certainly not technical but could be a challenge for some.
