World's End, Nuwara Eliya

(4.1/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
In the cloud-covered heights of the Horton Plains National Park, World's End offers one of the most dramatic vantage points in Sri Lanka. From a sheer cliff drop of some 1,200 m (4,000 ft), the view encompasses almost the entire park. Hike the moderate 4 km (2.4 mi) trail from the entrance to the park's highest point, looping round Baker's Falls for the full 9.5 km (5.9 mi) experience. For the best views, plan your trip for early morning, when clouds are least likely to spoil the vista. Take plenty of water and snacks, and dress in layers against the chilly high-elevation conditions. Plan to visit World's End and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Nuwara Eliya attractions using our Nuwara Eliya vacation route planner.

  • This place is called World's End, in fact, this should be named a place out of the world. It's one of the best places for mild adventurists in SriLanka. It's close to Nuwara Eliya please mind full of ...  more »

  • We did this hike at the beginning of March 2017. We started to 7 h, ideal for the back drive to be able to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the misty valleys. Was still pretty cool, so you dress your best in layers, once the sun comes up it can also quickly be warmer. You make a circle and we did them clockwise as recommended by our driver (but vice versa will be as good for sure?). You walk both on pretty good passable paths as on loose rocks and tree roots. Good Footwear is definitely recommended (yet not flip-flops). Apparently it is also appropriate to long trousers and long socks to put on against the leeches. Every now and then it is also reasonable to step up to, so to are, we would not recommend this. We saw on our trip different pretty colorful birds, frogs, squirrels and deer. Also a wide variety of plants, shrubs and trees. A (hobby) nature photographer takes out here more than likely his heart all up. You come 2 times on the trip toilet facilities at (you do not have too many proposals, but if the need is greatest, this is still better than nothing). We did more than 2.5 hours about the walk to a leisurely pace and take time out to eat our breakfast received from the hotel. For you the domain comes in is your baggage checked on plastics packaging, you need all your food in paper packaging and the conclusion and label must of your water bottle. Apparently throwing unfortunately far too many people this just on the ground instead of in the garbage causing the animals eat them and die. On the tour you come then 2 times a magnificent Vista by (at least at ready again) that is the famous "world's end", (1), and a beautiful waterfall. For us were those things windfalls, but the walk itself will mainly stay with us. one of our nicest excursions during our tour of Sri Lanka.
