World's End, Nuwara Eliya
Categories: Wildlife Areas, Nature & Parks
In the cloud-covered heights of the Horton Plains National Park, World's End offers one of the most dramatic vantage points in Sri Lanka. From a sheer cliff drop of some 1,200 m (4,000 ft), the view encompasses almost the entire park. Hike the moderate 4 km (2.4 mi) trail from the entrance to the park's highest point, looping round Baker's Falls for the full 9.5 km (5.9 mi) experience. For the best views, plan your trip for early morning, when clouds are least likely to spoil the vista. Take plenty of water and snacks, and dress in layers against the chilly high-elevation conditions.
