A good place to visit on the way to the lovers leap waterfall. The ticket is only rp 200 and you will have a little tour and a coup of tea. But probably the best one is walking around the tea fields before arriving to the factory.
Lovely place where you can walk around freely in the tea gardens. Peaceful and cooling it is a great treat to explore. There is a teac shop with a variety of teas. And you are given tours of the factory too.
Un lugar bastante interesante para visitar muy cerquita del centro. La visita es guiada y al final te dan una taza de té. Él precios 200 rupias por persona.
Definitely worth an interesting 30 minute tour of a working tea factory followed by a nice cuppa. Only 200rps too!
The tea factory looks very 19th century. The tour cost 200 lkr and lasts about 15 minutes. The tea leaves arrive around noon, so before that you won't see any of the machines working. After noon the withering machine is supposed to work. The rest are only operational at night. Overall the tour was nice, but seeing working machines would be much better. The shop has a variety of expensive teas none of which are produced at the factory, since the factory doesn't do branding and packaging. The factory has a great view over the plantation.
