Pedro Tea Factory , Nuwara Eliya

3.8
#3 of 7 in Sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya
Landmark Tourist Spot
Take a guided tour through Pedro Tea Factory and wander around the plantation fields. Built in 1885, the factory still holds some of its original machinery, although all of the production processes take place at night, meaning you can't see them in action. Nevertheless, you can learn a lot about the history of the factory, the methods used to produce the tea, and, of course, sample some fine tea products at the end. Rest at the onsite cafe and take pictures of the area's lush green landscape. Using our world travel planner, Nuwara Eliya attractions like Pedro Tea Factory can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • great place. nice view. whole process of tea manufacturing was explained nicely. very friendly staff. they gv a cup of tea to all visitors. don't forget to visit Pedro tea factory if u come to Nuwara Eliya. close to town.can buy natural tea if u need.
  • Positive: short and clear tour. Not positive: not allowed to take photos due to fear of negative publicity... Tea room is outdated and office-like. Factory is like it was in the 60's, which is fine depending on standards. Nice tourguide
  • These local guides are deluded. Tour was distinctively average. Staff were inconceinenced by our presence.
  • very good place to know the whole tea precess. View from top of factory is very nice
  • Beautiful clean place and real tasty tea
