Lover's Leap Falls, Nuwara Eliya
(3.9/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Hear the roar as masses of water crash down into the pool below at Lover's Leap Falls. Take a half-hour hike along the river to the top of the falls, and admire the tea plantations along the way. Ask a local guide to help you navigate the path, which can get steep and slippery at times. When you get to the top, take a moment to absorb all you see--the falls, the surrounding nature, and the breathtaking view of the town beneath you. Make sure you visit during the rainy season, as the falls lose their water during the dry season. Work out when and for how long to visit Lover's Leap Falls and other Nuwara Eliya attractions using our handy Nuwara Eliya travel itinerary planner.

  • There are beautiful views of tea fields and the village. No TukTuk (also with child) are needed to cope with the tour by the Pedro Tea Estate. On the contrary, it is uncomfortable, with the TukTuk because there is no metalled road. Caution not to sit down have a simple ride should cost no more than 300-400 LKR. Descend back best through the split rock (located on the tea plantation) so you can see the surrounding local vegetable growers from close range. Below, it will again be a TukTuk. No highlight, but with children quite nice.

  • Count 2 h 30, the ride over the round trip by bus to Nuwara eliya. For... 40 PR (price of the bus), go for it. Very nice view on plantations, no risk of getting lost, the path for you all alone (or almost) we meet the workers in their hard work of the tea crop.

  • Very good views of the entire Valley, in addition to being a very nice waterfall. Can be reached easily from the Pedro Tea Factory, as a half-hour walk, a path without loss
