  • Very beautiful and attractive place. But travelers have to pay more attention about dumping garbage. we have to keep this beautiful place clean.
  • Bopath fall is near by kuruvita town on the way to Rathnapura from colombo, Sri lanka 4 km away from the A4 main road(near by Rathnapura). This area is wet and hot in nature. Lot of wet zone trees and...  more »

  • Name changed to Bopath Ella waterfall. Beauty of Srilanka. Please save this to our next generation.
  • A beautiful waterfall, probably the best in Ratnapura. You have to walk from the car part, the walk is not difficult. There were couple of ponds (downstream, bit far from the waterfall) people used to bath but DO NOT try bathing near the waterfall. Many people have died trying to go near to the waterfall and trying to climb the waterfall. Be aware of rising water levels when it rains (water levels may go up eventhough it is not raining near the waterfall but if it rains upstream) You could be stranded in the small "island" if the water level rises.
  • It got its name "Bopath ella"(Bopath means the leaf of Bo tree and ella means Waterfall ), due to its shape of a bo leaf. An eyecatching sight to see.
  • One of famous waterfall in sri lanka
  • Very famous place among local tourists. Sudden variation of water levels are possible. Should not go near the main water fall.. If the people who visit refrain from throwing plastic bottles, polythene bags etc to the surrounding area, the beauty of Bopath Ella will remain as it is in the future.
