Visit the sacred Buddhist site of Temple of the Gadaladenia, which dates back to 1344. See fascinating wood carvings and significant religious artworks on the walls of the temple, which has four chapels containing impressive paintings of the Buddha. At the shrine room, see the seated Buddha surrounded by colorful images of the gods. You'll learn much more about the temple, including fascinating stories behind the many artworks, by hiring a guide to accompany you around the site. • The temple complex is considered to be one of those objects that are not to be missed when traveling to Sri Lanka. However, in my opinion, there is nothing so special about it is to specifically engage in a separate trip, spend time, rent a tuk-tuk, etc. May, from the point of view of people, religious object and deserves attention, but we were underwhelmed.
