  • We have started the rise of Hatton/Dalhousie from shortly after midnight and have needed for good 4 hours with only short breaks. At the Summit, you will need warm things well to survive the time until sunrise at about 5:45. It is then very wuselig because of the many people at the Summit. Valuables are good and safe to store. At Sunrise a great view across the mountain country. The difficult but also very beautiful was the descent on the other side on the Ratnapura road. There are already 5500 steps, page on Hatton come page again so much and about 7,000 levels more on 12 km on the Ratnapura. But the rain forest is really very beautiful with exotic birds and monkeys playing in the trees. We had an own driver who sure afternoon/evening to Dalhousie has driven us and picked at noon in Siripaagama. I would do this tour at any time again, but take more time for the Ratnapura road

  • We started our hike up Adam's Peak at 2am on a Saturday night, thinking we would be among only a few "pilgrims" hiking at that hour. Wrong. There were thousands. And I mean thousands of Sri Lankans al...  more »
  • 5500 steps up but real satisfaction in arriving to see the Sunrise (when one is lucky not to have fog)! It's a climb that is accessible to all if you take the time it takes! some do it in 2 hours, others 5 h but the view is magnificent and the ceremony celebrating the Sunrise gives an authenticity instead!
