A hilltop lookout point, Lipton’s Seat offers views over five different provinces. When you reach the base of the hill, you can take a drive up to the top or brave the 7 km (4.3 mi) uphill hike--like Sir Thomas Lipton of Lipton Tea fame once did. Lipton’s Seat is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Haputale Edition.

We, like most people went by a tuk tuk to Liptons Seat. The trouble was when we got to the entry gate where you pay for your ticket the tuk tuk driver let us out. We thought we were there but there wa... more »

Get a feeling for tea, by making this tour. I would recommend to go up by TukTuk and to walk back down. I would recommend an early tour in order to avoid to see the mist. The area is sensitve to quick... more »

One of the best places that everyone has to visit. Better to go by early morning as the mist can block your view. Way to this place is alsp scenic and I recommend to take haputhale road as it goes through nice tea estates.

Top of the world views. Spectacular. Interesting and challenging drive to get here on a very steep and narrow winding road. Can get there by Yuk tuk but be careful of being ripped off. Agree price first and make sure they wait to bring you back. Prices very from 1000 reps to 7000rps.

Walk up. Or drive carefully. The awesome 360 degree view will reward you. Have a real cup of tea in the little hut. If it's open. Be aware that the weather might suddenly change. We lost some nice Korean friends up there not long ago. They were hit by lightning.

Any vehicle (except long bus) can go up till the last fly to the Lipton’s Seat, from there you behooves walk from one end to the other 500m over the tea ace up sleeve to admit of comparison with to the recognize point. Since it was a literally bright and bouncy day we were suited to get a bang out of clear and multiple views. This is a very good place to visit. Don't forget to drink black tea from the place.

Where to stay in Haputale
While Haputale offers few international chain hotels, the town has a solid selection of affordable, locally owned accommodations. Because of the excellent price point on lots of the town's lodgings, many travelers use Haputale as a jumping-off point to visit the nearby national park and other attractions. For an authentic experience during your trip to Haputale, consider staying at a friendly guesthouse or small inn, many of which offer home-cooked meals and arrange travel to surrounding areas. While this destination used to fill up with tourists, its popularity has dwindled recently, so making reservations should not present too much difficulty.
