Dry Zone Botanical Garden, Hambantota

Nice place though some areas are still under development. Best way to travel is by an electric car which can accommodate 10 or 6 people. The guides are very informative and provide a good service. Cactus home is really nice and has many attractive specimens. It has a commonwealth circle with trees planted by heads of states attended the commonwealth summit. This includes a biobab tree although it is still very small.

Very nice place to visit. This is not a flower garden. It has many types of trees and plantations which are specific to dry zone. It is a large area, but you don't need to walk. There is a internal transport service and guide service which cost only 1000rs for a group of 10 which covers the whole area within 1hour.

It's dry zone botanical garden. Visited in August, At that time most plants were brown. May be it's a dry season. Better visit there in wet season. Full of peacocks. Can see several types of birds near the lakes. Need to stay calm.

A well- planned, beautiful garden unlike Hakgala. But i wouldn't attempt exploring unless there's a cart to take us because it was 40 degrees the day we went. It was really difficult to get a cart mostly because of the very unhelpful front- desk woman so be warned. If not for her, i would have given 5 stars as the garden is so picturesque and our guide was amazing. He has lots to say and he makes the trip totally worth every penny you pay.

Very nice must visit place. Even with the dry and difficult wether they maintain it very well you may feel like that you are in wet zone. Very easy access just from the main road. Plant sales center and nursery also there with dry zone plants. Still this place is not very crowded.
