  • Really amazing poster/picture/art gallery right in the heart of Galle Fort. They specialize in replica travel posters from Sri Lanka's past - definitely not your typical "tourist trap" accessories. A very unique place to browse, although the prices may be a bit high (as expected). Currently they are also offering prints from their guest artist Segar - some really nice impressionist artwork. Recommended!
  • Interesting shop with loads of posters and postcards. Highly recommended for collectors/designers/poster-fans.
  • Amazing, high quality prints! The postcards make for really nice souvenirs
  • Bright, small shop/gallery. Interesting but expensive posters. Worth a visit in beautiful if maybe overly restored area of Galle, the tourist trap part.
  • Cute little place for retro posters & prints! I bought a few postcards :-)

Where to stay in Galle

A handful of accommodations can be found within the walls of the historic fort at Galle, including upmarket hotels and simple guesthouses, although the relatively few options usually can't cater to the number of visitors to the old town. Unless you reserve your spot well in advance, chances are you'll be looking just north of the fort where, closer to the waterfront, sit a range of upscale boutiques with sea views, and further back, a good number of simpler guesthouses and hotels. Nearby beach towns, and Colombo, remain popular places to stay among visitors just wanting to take a day trip to Galle.
