  • Strenuous ascent but great views. Also the way before that over the railway track is very nice. The turn-off to the climb is hard to find, but there are many descriptions online. Before Google and not distract from the 'guides' on the side of the road can send a often in the wrong direction then to offer as a "helper".

  • After an hour's walk not so strenuous you come upon this spike suspended over the forest. You can take pictures where it looks to be in a vacuum

  • Very picturesque walk that starts at the railroad tracks. You will learn to depart when the train comes as locals, who use the roads as a way more. Then the road runs between the fields of you and eucalyptus plantations, being the end basrante Honeysuckle and precipitously. Take sports footwear, slippers of monte, don't go in flip-flops as locals. The views of the mountains and valleys at the end are spectacular. Photo required. Up at the Summit some families sell refreshments.

  • A must see attraction for tourists who are interested in nature. Ella rock is a mountain peak with a stunning view of a landscape. There are a few routes but the most popular route which we took is from the railway tracks. A guide would not be needed if you are travelling in the peak time where you will meet other tourists who are coming back. You can buy fruits, water from small stalls you find by the side of the railway track. This hike is moderate and may take 1.5 - 2.5 hours one way depending on your speed.
  • A challenging hike compared to Little Adam's peak. It needs some fitness and hiking experience. Always recommended to climb with a group. On top there are three views. One view which is on the extreme right of the normal view point is not known to many. If you ask some local there they would guide you to the third view which is extremely beautiful. There are three dogs available. If you give them some food they will come with you to the 3rd point. They will lead the way. 😀 Recommended to download MAPS.ME offline version. We got lost 3 times and it saved us.
  • Are there locals that are trying to mislead tourists so they can guide them to the top for a fee? Yes, absolutely there are. But the good news is that it's easy to avoid. There is a GPS map that is available online and if you're fairly savvy with Google Maps then you should easily avoid the scam. To find the map, just look for the words Ella, Rock, Atlas, and Boots in a search.
  • A fairly challenging climb up uneven stones, but well worth it for the epic views at the top. We got some fantastic photos, but if you’re afraid of heights you may want to re-think this destination... One important word of advice, DO NOT LISTEN TO THE LOCALS ALONG THE TRACKS. Find a reliable blog that includes a guide and map, and stick to that. They use deception to get tourists lost and then they offer to take you up themselves for a profit, and it’s really not worth it. Stick to your maps and you’ll be fine. (They’ve gone as far as using incorrect signs too, so don’t follow hand written signs either). Definitely worth the hike up though, so if you can go definitely do!
  • Pretty steep and long hike and we got lost couple of times, then got a tour guide (almost everybody had one since we all got lost at the same point) from a small village we went through and got on top - when you ask direction they just start walking and take you all the way on top, then ask some money and go back. The views are amazing and so worth it! Very rewarding :)
