We liked it very much. Arriving put us a video explaining the ruins of Reccopolis, so is easier to understand what you're seeing.

Only foundation of new plant, I should say. Reccopolis, if I am not mistaken, was the only city founded by the Visigoth monarchy, which, naturally, prompted many other performances in already existing cities. The interpretation centre helps to easily understand the site, simple in its structure and layout. The only "but" is the State of the cartels along the way, but sure that climate does not help their conservation. It is interesting and the views also help understand the chosen location on the Tagus and dominating a vast territory. Interpretation center depart from various routes and walks, including that linking Reccopolis in medieval times with the castle of Zorita of dogs.

Completely unaware this place surprised me pleasantly surprised to visit him, remains of a Visigothic city than with the help of the classroom's interpretation gives you an idea as it could be in origin. The botanical path is worth to complete the visit. I recommend visiting the website or call by phone to find out schedules and others.

  • Very interesting. Very friendly staff serving. It is a small deposit but its exhibition is very well organized and audiovisual projection is pretty good. Summer weekend organized dramatised visits by actors that are fun for everyone. Visit recommended for what was an attempt of Visigoth capital city.

  • It is fairly well preserved what is left of the city. It lacks organization in terms of guided tours. They announce a schedule, and then they do not comply without giving any explanation, just tell you that this visit has been suspended. You organize your time to see several things; The castle of Zorita among others, which is included in the visit to Reccopolis and furthermore there is no another way to visit him, because it is closed to the free visit, and when you arrive you have to wait several hours to join a tour or come back another day.

  • Historic site that is worth knowing. We hired guided but as there was a minimum of people we had to go through it alone. They should care more for tourism.

  • A good part of our history site to teach to the more children, the visit to the Castle dramatized this super.
