A visit to the Palace of the Real Maestranza de Caballería is a must for the traveller arriving Zaragoza. It is a return in time, with stays and Renaissance rooms recreated with absolute rigour and a conservation bordering on perfection.

Great tradition of which I am a part for a few years, with possibility to visit during the weekends. Site to hang out and see some history.

Where to stay in Zaragoza

When visiting this historical city, most visitors opt to stay in the old quarter, or Casco Viejo, for its convenient proximity to many of the city's iconic landmarks and compact network of local eateries, shops, and traditional architecture. The old quarter is located along the Ebre River meaning that you are only a scenic waterfront stroll away from the rest of the city's buzzing neighborhoods. Several newer hotels are located in the commercial zone centered around Gran Via, one of the city's main arteries, where plenty of shops and well-known restaurants line the buzzing streets. Alternatively, head to the University district for a mix of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and a vibrant nightlife, where accommodation tends to be a bit cheaper.
