Monasterio de Piedra, Zaragoza

(4.6/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
Discover picturesque landscapes at Monasterio de Piedra, a tranquil and scenic park that surrounds a partially ruined ancient monastery. Its deep, reflective lakes, caves, lush forest, and waterfalls, including one over 50 m (164 ft) high, make it an oasis in an otherwise arid area of Spain. Listen to birds singing and try to spot the native deer, rabbits, and boars. Head to the monastery, founded in 1194, and learn how the first piece of chocolate made in Europe was created there. Some of the paths in the park are tricky and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. • A mi me has adequate! The monastery and the Park... leave you speechless. Silence and nature... the perfect combination to charge batteries and forget completely everything. The Hotel... is a gem! Is like a journey into the past, I've compared it a little with the Titanic that I've seen recently... is so great and you feel so small... enjoy it with the 5 senses sight - everything that you see leaves you speechless, smell - the subtle smell of Church combined with the smell of wood makes you enjoy still more than what you see the heard - the sound of your footsteps walking through the halls complements what I have commented before, touch - touch furniture, Hall handrail.. .te get still more in the history of the site and the taste - I let them taste the last, here I have something to criticize :(we dined at the Hotel restaurant, the truth is that we have reached with hungry... amount of dishes... as an appetizer... imagine our faces and not have been the only by what we have seen in the dining room, apart from the little dinner... did not know anything, sosa... a shame, that if well presented dishes... but that doesn't mean you hunger and the menu 22 euros / person for being guests at hotel discounted you 2 euro menu. Simple, very clean room and comfortable. The only downside to the evening was to activated air-conditioning and we have awakened at 5 in the morning almost frozen and there was no command to remove air and at that time was... not to call the reception. Only these 2 mistakes. It is a site that must visit if or and I recommend it without hesitation.

  • The Monasterio de Piedra (Zaragoza) is a magical place. A Gothic temple located in the middle of nature, where waterfalls surround it and make it a mystical place.
  • The walk around the park was incredible. It is really beautiful. It was a shame that I didn't get to watch the eagles and such. The food from the restaurant wasn't the tastiest. At least the pasta. Rations were decently big at least.
  • The waterfalls are incredible, and the cliffs provide some amazing views. Definitely worth the hike
  • Nice place in Spain where you can rest and enjoy the nature in a beautiful environment where you will find lakes and waterfalls which are fed by the "Rio Piedra". Service is really good and kind. The only bad point are taxes and money. You will spend more than you think.
  • We had an absolutely stunning experience here and recommend it to everyone who is fit enough to navigate the sometimes steep slopes. The waterfalls are a sight to behold and are a photographer's dream.
