Monasterio de Piedra, Zaragoza
(4.6/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Discover picturesque landscapes at Monasterio de Piedra, a tranquil and scenic park that surrounds a partially ruined ancient monastery. Its deep, reflective lakes, caves, lush forest, and waterfalls, including one over 50 m (164 ft) high, make it an oasis in an otherwise arid area of Spain. Listen to birds singing and try to spot the native deer, rabbits, and boars. Head to the monastery, founded in 1194, and learn how the first piece of chocolate made in Europe was created there. Some of the paths in the park are tricky and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. • It is a must-see if you are in the area. Full of waterfalls and fantastic places. You should go with shoes and sportswear, especially during autumn/winter moisture. The monastery is a little disappointing for the abandonment to which has been tested years ago, but a must see. The entries perhaps a little faces, but at least it seems they invest it in facilities.

  • The truth is that we went with little information and did not expect to find that water show. We were just in time and had to go without seeing the Park because we had input to the monastery. On the one hand, the Park is a true spectacle, fully recommended, if you go with small children (our case) better without a trolley, we with the backpack were divinely. It has a lot of benches for sitting, playground, viewpoints... recommend to go with time to enjoy it. In terms of the monastery also worth your visit, every hour at point you a guided tour where explained you everything. We will certainly return

  • We had an absolutely stunning experience here and recommend it to everyone who is fit enough to navigate the sometimes steep slopes. The waterfalls are a sight to behold and are a photographer's dream.
  • Precioso lugar, recomendable para visitar.
  • Nice place in Spain where you can rest and enjoy the nature in a beautiful environment where you will find lakes and waterfalls which are fed by the "Rio Piedra". Service is really good and kind. The only bad point are taxes and money. You will spend more than you think.
  • Se paga por andar
  • Muy bonito y muy caro
