Architectural Building Religious Site
The site of La Seo has held many buildings—from a Roman Forum, to a visigothic church, to a mosque, and now the current cathedral. A work of many centuries, the cathedral exemplifies many different architectural styles from Romanesque to Gothic. Walk through the vast chamber and watch the light streaming through the stained glass windows. Take a look at over 20 chapels, each with a unique style, along the walls of the interior. Climb the stairs to the second floor for the tapestry museum, with some pieces dated to the 13th century. Our Zaragoza trip builder makes visiting Catedral del Salvador de Zaragoza and other Zaragoza attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Where to stay in Zaragoza

When visiting this historical city, most visitors opt to stay in the old quarter, or Casco Viejo, for its convenient proximity to many of the city's iconic landmarks and compact network of local eateries, shops, and traditional architecture. The old quarter is located along the Ebre River meaning that you are only a scenic waterfront stroll away from the rest of the city's buzzing neighborhoods. Several newer hotels are located in the commercial zone centered around Gran Via, one of the city's main arteries, where plenty of shops and well-known restaurants line the buzzing streets. Alternatively, head to the University district for a mix of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and a vibrant nightlife, where accommodation tends to be a bit cheaper.

  • Architecture at its best. One of a must visit Cathedral in Zaragoza Spain. Ancient culture, modern design.
  • Beautiful cathedral... A must visit in Zaragoza!
  • The dome and cupola with lantern of this Gothic cathedral are fantastic as well as its alabaster main altar.
  • Interesting mixture of different styles.
  • Outrageous price for a bad experience. Though nice, the policy of the site is to forbid taking pictures, even without flash! Yet if you try to take a picture, a rude guard will come to scold you, and after that he'll control absolutly everything you do with your cellphone, even if you are just messaging. Meanwhile you'll see (and hear) groups of people playing seek-n-catch with said guard, to try to take some pictures... I'd rather spend the 5€ entrance in a few postcards, and go to hotel bathroom to watch them.
