  • It is the Ethnographic Museum of Castilla-leon, which has more than 15 years. It is an architectural gem modern, impressive, in the surroundings of the Plaza de Viriato, opposite the Palace of the counts of Aliste and Alba, now Parador Nacional. 5 plants with a careful selection of the heritage of Castilla-León, ranging from ceramics to children's toys, passing through threshing machines, ploughs, looms, spinning wheels, regional costumes. A very didactic look at a bygone society, but still some recall in some of its aspects. The staff is friendly and willing. Frequent temporary exhibitions. Very cheap.

  • There's more to this museum than meets the eye because it's laid out over several stories. The exhibits were ordered and organized in such a way as to tell the ethnographic story of the region. We enj...  more »

  • Nice small museum. Free wifi.
  • Great exhibition. Interesting. Didactic activities.
  • The guide was fantastic, had very little time and explained very fast so give us time to see as much as possible. With the youth card it left us free, with the school of art of Leon €1. For teachers and pensioners, it is also free. Fantastic.

  • Visit pleasant and enriching to remember or know the customs of our ancestors. Would be improved with a more descriptive musealization which would facilitate the interpretation of what you see the visitor

  • The Ethnographic Museum of Castilla y León, based in Zamora, presents an interesting and extensive collection of instruments related to the daily activities of the villages in this area, from the Roman period until the middle of the last century. The form of exposing them is quite original, since it does not follow a strict line of historicist, but gathers the pieces with a thematic concept general on each floor (elements, creation, religious spirituality, etc) and then divide them according to the utility or meant that they had for the men of these lands, doing very pleasant visit as it's not monotonous at any time, despite the historic jumps in some sections, but these are probably not relevant considering that many activities and human beliefs have remained almost unchanged for centuries or millennia. If you pass by Zamora and you have time give you a tour of the Museum, the visit is quite small (3 euros) and I peermitira better understand the spirit of the region
