  • This beautiful church of San Pedro of Romanesque origin, built on another dedicated to Sta Leocadia Visigoth, contains an air Chapel the remains of San Ildefonso de Toledo, brought by the Mozarabs of this city and that were found during some works of enlargement in 1260. Hence the name of San Pedro and San Ildefonso. In addition to the remains of the toledan Church father (the one with the miracle of the chasuble, narrated by Gonzalo de Berceo), on the left also lie the remains of the first bishop of Zamora, San Atilano, patron of the city. The insistent demands of Toledo to recover the remains of his famous Holy, and even after a robbery attempt, made that I was established in the 15TH century the brotherhood of Knights Cubicularios who were responsible for the custody of the body.

  • Upon entering you find an altar having a great iron gate which protects the remains of San Pedro and San Ildefonso to prevent residents of another town to take away his relics at the top. In a side altar is a beautiful image of the Virgin of the beautiful love, which change their earrings twice a year. In side and outside a home blinded some archivolts in forms of very original rolls.
