Cathedral of Santa María de Vitoria, Vitoria-Gasteiz

Set on one of the highest points in the city, Cathedral of Santa María de Vitoria is an impressive Gothic-style cathedral filled with artwork and sculptures. The portico is especially popular, with its three parts dedicated to the Virgin, San Gil, and the Final Judgment and Saint James. This restored building is often being worked on, so visitors are given helmets to wear around the premises. • Very interesting guided visit of the Cathedral. With how-to videos and visit to the interior, which is impressive.

  • The Cathedral is located in works since a few years ago by what can only be visited with a guide, booking. We liked very much, very interesting to learn a little bit of history of the city. The explanation of the very correct and entertaining guide. Totally recommended.

  • This is a cathedral right now in do and you have to make the visit with guide, but the truth is that it is a wonder and a very nice experience. You discover every corner, from the basement up to the Tower, through spiral staircases, steep and small passageways where you must crouch down! Amazing visit! You can not miss you! We went with a 5-month-old baby, been saved stroller and emos gone with him on the backpack without any problem! Super good! Thank you

  • We got a very interesting tour in the Cathedral of Santa María de Vitoria. It was very unique, as I have never been in a cathedral wearing a helmet :) It created a special atmosphere ;) Interesting story, nice view and a digital surprise in the end of the tour :) I loved it!
  • You can find this catredal in plaza de Santa María. We like this catedral because is enormus and beutifull for autsaide and inside
  • The restoration of this impressive building has been long and hard. But at the end Vitoria has preserved a vital part of its history. Well worth a visit...
  • I like it because is so big and so intersant and beautifull it has got a lot of story very intersant
  • This cathedral has been going through a much-lauded renovation for some time. The interior is basically restored and now they're working on some of the outside areas. Book a tour online - I recommend the Cathedral and Tower tour, as opposed to the Cathedral and Wall tour. The tour doesn't start in front of the cathedral - their tour office is on a little side street. Tours at different times are in different languages - you might not end up with a tour in your own language, but even if you don't understand exactly, much of what you see is self-explanatory.
