Tazones, Villaviciosa

(500+ reviews on the web)
Historic Site
Soak up the atmosphere of the charming fishing village of Tazones. As you wander its colorful streets, look for the shell-covered house and historic lighthouse. Play archeologist as you search for the genuine dinosaur footprints in the quarry near the beach. Fossils are not the only reason Tazones' beach is historically significant. King Charles V is said to have stepped on Spanish soil for the first time here when acquiring his new kingdom in 1517. Sample the catch of the day and sip some of the local cider in one of Tazones' many seafood restaurants. • We went there not expecting much but it was a great visit with lovely atmosphere and lovely food, the best we had eaten in Asturias.  more »
  • Beautiful town. Great sea wall and a nice nest of restaurants. The Cidre was professionally poured and the gaseous ones were most pleasing to our pallets. It was worth the detour.  more »

  • A very tourist and place worth seeing, although a hand of paint would not come you not bad, the poor state of the same lackluster the tourist attraction of the enclave. City Council and businesses in the area (restaurants) should bet more on that aspect, the site is worth it.
