  • A superleerzame activity in a very attractive design. The history of the city is very extensive and on a very interactive way explained which makes you feel that you were there!

  • Valencia's historical museum is 200 metres from metro station 9 de Octubre, and should not be confused with the municipal history museum, which is located in the very City Hall in Plaza de Ayuntamiento in Valencia's city centre. The visit here was a big surprise: firstly, the Museum arranged in a former underground water reservoir, constructed 1847-1850. The beautiful, rectangular space on 67 X 42 meters is filled with 250 columns with arches between them. They are furnished in 11 rows. A fantastic idea to rebuild the old water reservoir to the historical museum. The setting for the tale of Valencia's history is thus a piece of history itself, and it makes the visit to a very special experience. Secondly, the exhibition very well set up. you go around and visitors are looking at a total of 50 ' panes ' shopping. Behind each pane narrated an episode of the history of the city from its founding 138 b.c. until our days. And thirdly, as was the language of the Museum, of course, both Valencian and Spanish, but verily: by English-speaking tourist, I was handed a fine directory with good translations of the texts, and it made the visit quite different exciting and instructive, than if I had only been able to look at the many exhibited effects and try to understand a little of the Spanish text. This is one of the best historical museums I've visited, and a visit here may be recommended!

  • The setting of the museum in the old underground reservoir is very atmospheric, and the displays have been put together with a lot of thought. There aren't a huge number of items on display but they h...  more »

  • Hate to seem uncultured but it was terribly boring. Almost entirely consists of objects, from a given period, behind glass. There must've been about 10 different projector screens which displayed little dramatisations from actors in a range of languages. However, only 2 were working when I visited. The building itself is pretty, and the entry fee is cheap, only 5€ pp.
  • El lloc en sí I la disposició de la informació m'agradaren molt. Vam fer una visita guiada I va estar genial.
  • Interesante
  • The idea of the museum (with short movies about city life in different historical periods) is very good, but most of projectors were out of order. Also only 1of 5 time machines available was working. A bit disappointing!
  • Because it is located in the ancient cisterns of Valencia and this gives an atmosphere of authenticity, truth, knowledge, meditation and the roots of the Valencian people and its rich cultural, artistic, monumental and historic.
