  • Nice museum. Small, but well renovated, it was the traditional silk union and silk manufacturing school. The guided tour is definitely worth it!
  • This College and current Museum, is the headquarters of the Guild of Velluters (terciopeleros) and the silk manufacturers, is the oldest in Europe, founded in the year 1474, and edificandose in this place in 1492. En1686 King Carlos II grants to the Guild of Velluters, the title School of the greater art of silk. The silk trade was very important in the Valencia from the 15TH century to the extent that the building most emblematic of Valencia, La Lonja de los Mercaderes, also called the Lonja de la Seda. The choice of San Jerónimo as pattern recognition seems to be due to tradition, by which this Saint was the first Cardinal to introduce silk dress. The Guild of silk was born of the need to regulate the trade, prevent abuses and malpractices that may arise in the development of this activity. The Guild was in charge in addition to monitor the quality of the silk, controlling the number of looms and the craftsmanship of the trade. It has recently been restored by the hydrangea Herrero Foundation.
