  • This market is much less picturesque than the central market but it has other advantages. The price and quality of the products are the same, there are less people. The market is expanded until outside the building where they sell clothes, dishes and other things of that kind. You can find anything to their liking.

  • Today I've been around market doing some shopping, to eat you must go to the markets not to large areas, have all, in addition to the conventional, fruits, vegetables and meats there is a good assortment of deli, wines, oils. Wonderful, they have a bar in the first terror where attention, the service and the food is very good, apart the fish, you have to see them in months that they are all open, today in August failed many holiday.

  • If you really want to soak up the atmosphere of a mercado, then you better go to the less touristy mercado de ruzafa. Especially the Spaniards find their liking. You will find all the products you need. A nice range of fruit and meat were of good quality. On the market around it you will find especially textile and household articles.

  • Fabulous! An amazing array of fruit, vegetables, bread and even seaweed! Honey, cakes, wines, liqueurs, herbs and spices to tempt you.Next door is an amazing fish market. Everything in both sections is attractively laid out and fresh. Parking underneath is cheap enough but some stalls also offer to pay it for you if you buy from their stall. Take a big shopping bag on wheels - you will need it!
  • Small but cosy. Clean, great local products. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
  • Typical Spanish market. Lovely, photogenic building. Smaller and less full of tourists than the Mercado Central.
  • Great market, friendly vendors, everything you need is in a state, plus the Coffee Time stall has amazing coffee to stay, to take away, or to make at home. And some cool coffee drip coffee makers for sale as well. I love this market. It may not be as beautiful a building as the Mercat Central, but it's my first choice for food. Plus check out the beautiful church next door!
  • In-building market. Lot of the same merchandise. Fun though to see the difference in food here and the food you're used to at home.

Where to stay in Valencia

The Valencia city center is hugged by a river bed-turned park that leads down to the City of Arts and Sciences and harbor area. Stay along the river to be no more than a pleasant stroll away from some of the main neighborhoods and attractions. The popular El Carmen neighborhood, one of the oldest in the city, is known for its bohemian atmosphere and historical architecture, making it a popular area for daytime tourism and lively nightlife. For a selection of newer hotels and well-known shops, you can opt to stay in the city's commercial district of Colon Street, only a short walk from the old center and well-connected by the metro. For a laid-back, sun-filled retreat, El Cabanyal is a quiet residential neighborhood near the city's main beach.
