Garden Nature / Park
Beginning as a medical herb garden in the early 16th century, the Jardin Botanico has a history intertwined with that of Valencia and the nearby university. • Quiet, shaded, nature sounds, funny cats, exotic trees and plants. An urban retreat for those that want to connect with the nature... Quite a lot of annoying moskidos, no baby play area, peebles no sa...  more »
  • A good place to spend a couple of hours of calm with lots of opportunity for shade. Well cared for & plants labelled. We did not see any cafe facilities here.  more »
  • The Botanical Garden is very pleasant. Not very extensive, but it is laid out in a very nice manner. There is an interesting section of medicinal plants, with explanations of their use.  more »

  • Nice place for nice price. You can walk a little bit around or you can just bring your book and sit on one of many benches and enjoy this green and calm place. It's not the biggest botanical garden but you can find many interesting plants there.
  • Oasis of rest in valencia. Very well kept garden allowing you to explore many different types of flora. An advisable visit!
  • Surprisingly wide variety of plants, feels very relaxing especially on a hot day. We enjoyed it a lot. Entrance is 2.50 euro and the ticket can be used whole day.
  • Beautiful garden with interesting artworks. Definitely go if you love cats, there's over 30 really friendly ones that get fed and taken care of by volunteers every day!
  • Nice and tranquil as any other botanic garden. Looks a bit run down every now and again. The plantsigns are curiously non informative only signalling the scientific name of the species. Worth a visit.

Where to stay in Valencia

The Valencia city center is hugged by a river bed-turned park that leads down to the City of Arts and Sciences and harbor area. Stay along the river to be no more than a pleasant stroll away from some of the main neighborhoods and attractions. The popular El Carmen neighborhood, one of the oldest in the city, is known for its bohemian atmosphere and historical architecture, making it a popular area for daytime tourism and lively nightlife. For a selection of newer hotels and well-known shops, you can opt to stay in the city's commercial district of Colon Street, only a short walk from the old center and well-connected by the metro. For a laid-back, sun-filled retreat, El Cabanyal is a quiet residential neighborhood near the city's main beach.
