  • There are many greenhouses, very beautiful flowers and especially many cats. They are very well cared, we would without fail.

  • Very close to the centre of town are the university botanical gardens. It is only 2.50 euros to enter. Lots of different plants and trees amongst a very tranquil setting. Lovely to escape into. Also h...  more »
  • Built in 1802 these beautiful gardens are one of the green lungs of the city, the largest and attracts great interest to botanists and plant enthusiasts in General.

  • I loved visiting this garden. It was bigger than I expected, especially considering the low entrance fee, and I loved that there were cute cats roaming around. Would definitely recommend a visit to the botanical gardens as part of your trip to Valencia! Bonus: go for a coffee at Mayan Coffee (very nearby) before/after you visit the garden. Best coffee in Valencia :)
  • lovely location to have a rest for an hour or two. plenty of seats and toilets! reduced entrance fee if over 65..just 2.50
  • Fantastic selection of plants to see from all around the world. Good way to spend a couple of hours.
  • Nice place for nice price. You can walk a little bit around or you can just bring your book and sit on one of many benches and enjoy this green and calm place. It's not the biggest botanical garden but you can find many interesting plants there.
  • It is a bit away from the main tourist attractions. The garden is interesting, but unfortunately almost everything is only in Spanish.

Where to stay in Valencia

The Valencia city center is hugged by a river bed-turned park that leads down to the City of Arts and Sciences and harbor area. Stay along the river to be no more than a pleasant stroll away from some of the main neighborhoods and attractions. The popular El Carmen neighborhood, one of the oldest in the city, is known for its bohemian atmosphere and historical architecture, making it a popular area for daytime tourism and lively nightlife. For a selection of newer hotels and well-known shops, you can opt to stay in the city's commercial district of Colon Street, only a short walk from the old center and well-connected by the metro. For a laid-back, sun-filled retreat, El Cabanyal is a quiet residential neighborhood near the city's main beach.
