Where to stay in Valencia

The Valencia city center is hugged by a river bed-turned park that leads down to the City of Arts and Sciences and harbor area. Stay along the river to be no more than a pleasant stroll away from some of the main neighborhoods and attractions. The popular El Carmen neighborhood, one of the oldest in the city, is known for its bohemian atmosphere and historical architecture, making it a popular area for daytime tourism and lively nightlife. For a selection of newer hotels and well-known shops, you can opt to stay in the city's commercial district of Colon Street, only a short walk from the old center and well-connected by the metro. For a laid-back, sun-filled retreat, El Cabanyal is a quiet residential neighborhood near the city's main beach.

  • Visited as part of a day trip. Very interesting. Lovely guide
  • Great team and great home stadium. No queue for entry and exit ( it takes only from 5 to 10 min). Sector A, (28 and 29 ) are very good. Seats from 300 to 460 are very good.
  • Good tour of the round and some historic items. Didn't get to see the changing rooms as it was a match day but did see a few players arrive. Watched the match in the evening and had a fantastic view.
  • As soccer stadiums go, the Mestalla is a palace; it's typically Spanish, in the sense that it's not a super-luxury stadium (concessions are nearly non-existant, bathrooms are extremely basic) and it's not fancy... but it's a terrific place to see a match. Steeply raked seating sections mean that even the middle and upper sections have a great view; passionate fans make for a fun experience. Bring a small napkin or cloth to wipe the reddish Valencian dust off your seat, or maybe do like the locals and set your newspaper down before you sit down. Be sure to get your drinks in for the lads prior to the match- no alcohol sold in the stadium, other than the VIP/hospitality areas (who wants to sit with all those dudes in suits, anyway?)
  • Perfect stadium tour. Guide was very enthousiastic. Her English was very good and easy to follow (also for kids).
