  • The town is ugly, but allows you to visit the lagoon with some of its many passenger boats and then you can eat in one of its many restaurants.

  • Whenever we can and we are in Valencia we come, to El Palmar and La Albufera de Valencia, to go for a walk and do photography. The Palmar, is an of the districts more known of the Lake, and is located in the middle of areas of irrigation. It is a small village today in day and almost entirely devoted to tourism. The entire village is packed with restaurants, I don't know how many there will be, but I think that too many, very oriented to tourists, for my taste esto makes people lose the charm of yesteryear. Restaurants with the typical dishes of the region, paella, fideuá, rice with lobster, etc. The nerve centre is the Plaza of the Encina, where certainly there are also restaurants, and a small church, which until today always found it closed. El Palmar retains some of the traditional huts in the area, my opinion few. The 'canes and clay"by Vicente Blasco Ibánez novel is set, in El Palmar and its surroundings. Recommended: take a stroll through the town, see part of the Lake, and stroll in boat by the same, there are posters that you enter in the village, which you indicate where to do so. At the entrance of the village there is a large car park, parking for cars and coaches, and the public transport from Valencia comes out here, is the bus number 25.

  • Nestled in an extraordinary natural environment, el Palmar is a living example of how not be urban development. More than a tourist attraction, seems a quarter low of a big city 40 years ago.
