City of the Arts and Sciences, Valencia

3.9
Many visitors come to the city expressly for City of the Arts and Sciences, an eye-catching cultural and architectural site that’s home to a science museum, opera house, planetarium, IMAX movie theater, and open-air oceanographic park, the largest such aquarium in Europe. Built in the 1990s at the end of the former riverbed of the Turia River, the futuristic complex was designed by renowned architects Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela. The principal building, housing the science museum, is filled with hundreds of hands-on exhibits. Attendants can help you find your way around, or leave you alone to enjoy the displays at your own pace. Once you’ve had your fill of exhibits and jostling crowds, enjoy a stroll through the site’s gardens, featuring hundreds of plant species indigenous to this area. Visitors curious to learn the stories behind all the buildings in this giant complex are encouraged to book a guided walking tour. Disappointing ... outside the Pharaonic structure, in uninteresting, developed on three floors, except for something, such as satellites and the electricity Department the rest poor. I would have done for free this area.

The building is falling to pieces! Is it normal that no one take care of that? The entrance cost US € 2 to remove it combined with the Oceanogràfic, which already foreshadowed that the thing did not have to walk very well. Exposures were us exciting or even interesting. The child zone of the dinosaurs liked him and best of all is the playroom/playground that is on the first floor and could enjoy a free hour.

Where to stay in Valencia

The Valencia city center is hugged by a river bed-turned park that leads down to the City of Arts and Sciences and harbor area. Stay along the river to be no more than a pleasant stroll away from some of the main neighborhoods and attractions. The popular El Carmen neighborhood, one of the oldest in the city, is known for its bohemian atmosphere and historical architecture, making it a popular area for daytime tourism and lively nightlife. For a selection of newer hotels and well-known shops, you can opt to stay in the city's commercial district of Colon Street, only a short walk from the old center and well-connected by the metro. For a laid-back, sun-filled retreat, El Cabanyal is a quiet residential neighborhood near the city's main beach.
