(9,500+ reviews on the web)
Zoo / Aquarium
Many visitors come to the city expressly for City of the Arts and Sciences, an eye-catching cultural and architectural site that’s home to a science museum, opera house, planetarium, IMAX movie theater, and open-air oceanographic park, the largest such aquarium in Europe. Built in the 1990s at the end of the former riverbed of the Turia River, the futuristic complex was designed by renowned architects Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela. The principal building, housing the science museum, is filled with hundreds of hands-on exhibits. Attendants can help you find your way around, or leave you alone to enjoy the displays at your own pace. Once you’ve had your fill of exhibits and jostling crowds, enjoy a stroll through the site’s gardens, featuring hundreds of plant species indigenous to this area. Visitors curious to learn the stories behind all the buildings in this giant complex are encouraged to book a guided walking tour. • As thus continue had ended badly. They are not concerned about care for them. In the museum space but missed. On the third floor shows half don't work (constellations, esfingomanometro, fingerprints, etc.). Lot of information to read but few operational demonstrations. The first floor, for kids is OK, although with visits of schools it is chaotic and nobody is to monitor and put some order, free camping and doing all the barbarities that seem to them. I've seen other museums more small with more activities, demonstrations and performance in perfect state and control of the facilities in this, and of course by paid performance leaves you satisfied, this has been a disappointment. Oceanographic very bad care, fish with symptoms of water in poor condition, turbid water and glass clean inside. It was without comment, much space but animals in substandard conditions. With algae due to lack of cleaning and stagnant waters. Of course only the birds could survive in it (but see ducks there are many parks by Spain that enjoy better quality of water) and not charge you to see them. Luckily the Dolphinarium wasn't bad. Ultimately not worth losing 2 days of your trip to see them, with 1 had left over and glad that no hired the Hemispheric, because after seeing the comments that I have been finding no wonder nothing and would have been the third disappointment. Enjoy more the surroundings and the architecture of the buildings to interiors (activities and exhibitions).
