I think that it is a must visit for all those travelers who like history. The bad is how bad care is and the lack or absence of information. Screens that do not work, texts that do not esxisten, etc... paid entry but not is use the money...

We found this place by accident as we were attracted to the square next to it to watch a cooking show that was being filmed and noticed the Roman ruins through the glass and water ceiling which looks ...  more »

  • An archeological site of an ancient Roman city, as for me - it is really impressive. The most interesting about the exposition is the glass roof which provides natural light and is covered with water, so people outside think that the city lays under water! The illusion is very realistic. Surprisingly, many people making photos by the side of this handmade lake don´t even notice what is underneath; even some local residents have no idea... If you are really interested in history, architecture, history of art – buy an entrance ticket (it is cheap) to see the Roman city inside. If your interests are not so specific – just enjoy the view looking underwater.
  • This was such a cool museum to visit. It's a very short and simple walkthrough of the old ruins and it's totally worth the 2€
  • Really nice and small museum built on top of ruins dating back to 138 B.C. It's very interesting and doesn't take long to see. Free on Sundays.
  • If you are a tourist coming to Valencia this place is a must. See where it all started - the earliest ruin is the city founding well from 138 B.C. (Yes, B.C.) and is beautifully preserved. Get a guide if possible (phone in advance and check if they offer a guide service that day) - it's very cheap and undoubtedly enriches the experience. Otherwise there are many videos throughout the site with explanations in Spanish, Valencian and English. Entry is 2 EUR and Free entry on Sundays - no excuse not to go!
  • the place is Unique. Historical and in city centre

Where to stay in Valencia

The Valencia city center is hugged by a river bed-turned park that leads down to the City of Arts and Sciences and harbor area. Stay along the river to be no more than a pleasant stroll away from some of the main neighborhoods and attractions. The popular El Carmen neighborhood, one of the oldest in the city, is known for its bohemian atmosphere and historical architecture, making it a popular area for daytime tourism and lively nightlife. For a selection of newer hotels and well-known shops, you can opt to stay in the city's commercial district of Colon Street, only a short walk from the old center and well-connected by the metro. For a laid-back, sun-filled retreat, El Cabanyal is a quiet residential neighborhood near the city's main beach.
