(4.5/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
For an authentic, beautiful attraction, visit Basilica de la Virgen de los Desamparados and admire the statue and its surroundings. The female figure was constructed in a Gothic style with a Byzantine face and long hair decorated with jewels. This woman is a Catholic apparition attributed to the Virgin Mary, patroness of Valencia, and also one of seven patrons of the autonomous communities of Spain. The statue is set in a lively square in the center of old Valencia. Don’t miss the nearby cathedral and church. This site gets very crowded with tourists. • A church human and very touching because it's for people who live alone, who feel not listened and that can even be thrown. This exists in 2016 and there is a lot of suffering in our world and it has always existed and that Church and his Virgin of the abandoned given a Word to those people who suffer... Kudos to the Catholic Church for this listening and support to these people.

  • Basilica adjoins the Cathedral, they both are square, which, however, bears the name of the Holy Virgin. Both temples are connected by a walkway to the level of the second floor. Valencia habitants revered the church because there is the image of the patroness of the city of the Virgin-Intercessor outcasts and Marginalised. It is believed that the image helped the townspeople during disasters (floods and fires) and during epidemics. The current temple building appeared in the mid-17th century in late-Renaissance style, with the addition of elements of Baroque.

  • Behind the Cathedral, overlooking the square of the Virgin, we have this small Baroque style Basilica that is as beautiful inside as anonymous in its exterior. Free access. Recommended.

  • Particular Church, to central plant with asymmetric dome located right in the main square of Valencia. It's the usual background of all major cultural and religious events that take place in the city. Honestly I found very uninteresting when compared to other churches of Valencia. It's worth visiting because it's right downtown, but you should not have high expectations and above all, you must be aware that if you have little time go anywhere else. @gargio76
  • Very beautiful church build in the 17th century. It is not very big, but attract with beauty, it is the church for local valencianos. The amount of fresh flowers around the main altar is magnificent, the nice smell from the flowers is divine.
  • Once you have been inside the basilica go around the back of the building and look for the glass doors, there is a small museum of religious art upstairs. It cost 2€ and you get a guided tour in Spanish.
  • Part of a wonderful plaza. Great area to hang out. Note the unusual Star of David in the design of the basilica.
  • Nice church with rich decorated walls and ceiling.
