Barrio del Carmen, Valencia
(4.4/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
The history of Barrio del Carmen dates to the 14th century, but the neighborhood today has a reputation for a bohemian attitude and an array of nightlife options. Many of the refurbished old buildings here house bars, pubs, cafes, and restaurants. Venues put on live music ranging from jazz to rock to reggae. Although the streets form a maze, the neighborhood is compact and therefore easy to explore. Arrange to visit Barrio del Carmen and other attractions in Valencia using our Valencia holiday planner.

  • The barrio del Carmen is the medieval walled town of the city, as such, is full of corners, streets, ancient buildings, arches, and all the charm d euna European walled city. Their seats are very nice to stroll, day and night. That Yes, the churches are not as nice as other cities.

  • Without any doubt I recommend visiting this Valencian neighborhood full of cobbled streets full of charm. Its municipal market, their homes and places as Plaza de tossal and San Nicolas Church and an endless number of places that are worth visiting. Here do not seek luxuries but every place that one can walk is a luxury for me and big! If you ever traveled to Rome these streets will remember it many corners of this beautiful city
