  • The ascent is a short and pleasant walk. But if you go in hours of heat. It is very uphill. It can be accessed with baby carriage up to the entrance. Then the ladder up to the top of the castle to see the views does not rise with truck

  • Very nice view of the city walls and the surrounding area. Do not miss the underground cisterns that collect rainwater.

  • Upon our visit the place was closed for rehearsal for the concert happening that evening. Worth visiting if you are in the area. This castle is also famous now, because Game of Thrones was shot there. Friendly advice use sun protection, there is nowhere to hide from the sun.
  • . We could see it from our bedroom window in the Parador (we had one of the rooms in the historic section, part of the former Convent of Santa Clara), we could see it looming above the Plaza mayor, and we made our way up to it through the cobbled streets of the Historic Centre. But of course we had already seen it in Game of Thrones, as the setting for Casterly Rock, the Lannisters' western stronghold. Filming took place here in November 2016, and Lannister flags were seen flying from its turrets. Built on the granite outcrop known as the Cabeza del Zorro (Fox's Head) mainly between the 9th and the 13th centuries, during the Moorish occupation of this part of Spain, its oldest parts were built by the Moors with the most recent modernisations being carried out in the 15th century by the Kings of Castille. If you can drag your weary legs up here, it is well worth the 1€50 entrance fee for the stupendous views down across the plain. In summer, wear a hat and take water - it is bakingly hot up here under the fierce sun. .
  • Beautiful castle with great views. And also the walk from the main square down in the town until the top of the Castle is priceless.
  • Best view in Trujillo, it worths the visit.
  • Excellent views all Trujillo and its region. The cisterns are OK also. The Chapel is nothing otherworldly Moreover, is rather soulless. For its price, it is worth.
