In a relationship with two young children visiting the Museum. €1,5 per adult and free for children. Simple and pleasant welcome. The tour is done alone. Two short films to watch and a small gym with models. C is frankly not expensive but c is also without great interest. The splendid view by hand is there are the sea and the Bay of tossa. A very nice bar is attached to the site and l we drink a good sangria.

This museum is located in the basement of the lighthouse. The Lighthouse is still in operation and the views from the plaza that is opposite are spectacular, as it is the highest point that can reach the Castle.

One of the landmarks of the city of Tossa de Mar is its lighthouse. The lighthouse was built between 1913 and 1919 in the upper part of the rock where he formerly was the upper part of the fortress of Tossa de Mar and built on the foundations of an ancient defensive Tower. The height of the Lighthouse is 10 meters and its light reaches the 30 miles nautical of distance. The lighthouse of Tossa is currently in perfect conditions of use and continues to help sailors in the lower houses a small museum: the lighthouses of the Mediterranean exhibition space. It is recommended to the walk up to the lighthouse, although there is the possibility of doing so on a small train. The entrance to the Museum costs €1.5 but not be accessible to the top of the lighthouse. On the ground floor of the lighthouse of Tossa, where formerly dwelt the lighthouse keeper, is the exhibition called Fars of the Mediterranean, which is created in a sensitive and very interesting way. The exhibition shows the importance of the lighthouses throughout history. It offers a film on the life of the lighthouse keeper and the symbolic of the headlights and the other on the cultural heritage of Tossa de Mar and the Costa Brava in general. We can see a machinery of rotation, different types of lanterns, lamps, different types of light bulbs, filters, etc. Also has a panel with most important lighthouses in the world with intervals and colors of the beams of light that identify them. A nice occasion to know the operation of a lighthouse and the different elements that compose it, very illustrative.
